Summer ANA Meeting Space Reserved for C4OA - May 28, 2016

The ANA has reserved space for the C4OA at the 2016 Anaheim ANA convention (please see date, time, and location information below). This year, due to space limitations at the Anaheim Convention Center, club meeting space has been provided by the Anaheim Hilton.

Although Rusty Goe, the club’s president, will not be able to attend the meeting, we hope that other C4OA members who will be in Anaheim, CA for the ANA convention, will take advantage of the reserved space and meet together for an informal time of sharing and fellowship.

You can share about your favorite “CC” coins or other related topics of interest. One (or more) of you might even want to give a brief presentation about something that has to do with the Carson City Mint and its coins.

The latest issue of Curry’s Chronicle, the fall-winter 2015, left the printers in Minnesota earlier this month. We have received reports from a handful of members saying that they received their copies, but we know that there are still some in the mail system.

If you have not received your copy of the fall-winter 2015 issue of Curry’s Chronicle by the end of November, please let us know so that we may send you a replacement copy. This issue is more like a journal-and-a-half, as it is jam-packed with articles and letters to the editor. It also includes an major, special announcement on page 9 that will affect all members, so it is important that members receive their copy.

Deadline for 10-Year Anniversary Curry's Issue Fast Approaching - April 8, 2015

We can’t believe it—it’s already right around the corner:

The summer 2015 issue of Curry’s Chronicle marks the Carson City Coin Collectors of America’s 10th year in existence. We have proudly published 34 issues of our award-winning journal (with this upcoming issue being #35), and have shared 325 articles with our members. For a 10-year old, I say this is quite an achievement!

We encourage anyone (regular contributors and newbies alike) to submit an article and/or a letter to the editor. Any length! We want you to have your place in our literary celebration. If you already rank on our list of article contributors, thank you! Add another submission on for good measure. Or, if you’ve never submitted a single word to the club, but you’ve always enjoyed being a silent C4OAer—this is your time to shine! Let us know about a collecting experience you’ve had regarding Carson City coins, or perhaps why you joined the club, or what you think about each issue of Curry’s Chronicle.

We know that with 34 issues under our belt, there are still thousands of topics related to the Carson City Mint and the coins produced there. Ever had a nagging question about how the mint operated? Send a letter to the editor and ask it! Ever wanted to share how your grandfather slipped a shiny “CC” silver dollar in your Easter egg hunt? Submit an article about how that event was the catalyst for your “CC” coin collecting hobby!

The deadline for submissions for the summer 2015 issue of Curry’s Chronicle is April 30, 2015. However, if you’re working on something you wish to include, but don’t know if you’ll have it ready in time, let us know—we may be able to hold the deadline open for your submission until the first week of May.

If you have questions about how to submit an article or letter to the editor (or its corresponding images), email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it , and I would be happy to help you.

We look forward to publishing a very special, 10-year anniversary issue of Curry’s Chronicle. Thank you so much for your support of the C4OA, we are honored to be here to help spread the passion those little “CC” mintmarks bring to us.

Maya

More info about this achievement can be found in the spring 2015 issue of Curry's Chronicle.

Along with the launch of our 10-year anniversary celebration, the spring 2015 issue marks the start of renewal season. Those of you who have a renewal date of June 30, 2015 should be receiving a white, renewal envelope stuffed in the mailer with your spring 2015 journal. Please use this envelope to pay your dues for the 2015-2016 membership cycle to avoid missing any issues of Curry’s Chronicle. Life members and multi-year members, please disregard this notice.

If you would like to help contribute to our 10-year anniversary celebration, please send us your article or letter to the editor submission. It can be anything from a short thought about the experiences you’ve had as a club member, to a long essay detailing diagnostics about your favorite “CC” coin. Submissions can be sent via email to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it , or by snail mail at CCCCOA, 5032 S. Virginia St., Reno, NV 89502.

Please send text submissions as Word documents, with 12-point Times New Roman font, and 1.5 line spacing. Original image files can be sent to our physical address (above), on CD, DVD, or flash drive. (Please note, images pulled from the internet are very low resolution and are not suitable for print in Curry’s Chronicle.) The submission deadline for the summer 2015 issue of Curry’s Chronicle is April 30, 2015, and the deadline for the fall-winter issue is September 30, 2015.
