As you can see in the Comstock category on this forum, Virginia City is 150 years old this year. Not to be forgotten, I'd like to acknowledge that the Carson City Mint is celebrating its 139th birthday this year (2009).

To commemorate this, I'm including this image of Nevada's revered coin factory:

athere are quite a few images of the mint that have been included on the cover of the Chronicle. Are thewre any known drawings or photos of the inside of the mint prior to being converted to the museum?

Yes, there are some images of the interior of the Carson City Mint from the late 19th century.

A few of them were published in Mint Mark: "CC", by Howard Hickson, and I published several interior shots in my first two books, The Mint on Carson Street, and James Crawford: Master of the Mint at Carson City.

Here are two interior shots from the Carson City Mint, probably from the 1890s.

The refinery room.

The cupelling room.
