A software program called Fireboard runs this discussion board. It provides a ranking system to monitor activity by all participants on this site. The system refers to participants as Boarders. It allows the administrator to assign appropriate names for each level (i.e., number of messages posted) of Boarders.

You will notice these names, with the designated number of small boxes beneath them, under your name next to the messages you post.

Following is the C4OA's ranking system for discussion board activity:

Tenderfoot Boarder - 0 to 19 posts

Apprentice Boarder - 20 to 49 posts

Technician Boarder - 50 to 99 posts

Chief Clerk Boarder - 100 to 199 posts

Chief Coiner Boarder - 200 to 399 posts

Assayer/Melter/Refiner Boarder - 400 to 999 posts

Superintendent Boarder - 1,000 or more posts

If someone exceeds 1,000 posts, perhaps we'll coin a new name for that level of participation.

So get busy and start posting more messages, especially you Tenderfoots.

HAPPY BOARDING!

Hey Rusty

This "ranking system for boarders on the C4OA site" is a great idea!

Let's see how long it takes to make Superintendent.

It's also a great way for newbies to the site or to C4OA to know who to seek out if they have questions because it not only underscores seniority of board participation, in a way, it also serves as a measurement of knowledge as displayed by the frequency of participation. If I didn't know anyone at C4OA, this is how I would seek out the best advice or numis-knowledge.

I agree with Belay Off. If I have any questions regarding anything CC I would look for a person with a high amount of posts.
