I say go for it Drummer:P Now I am anxious to see what the grade comes back as. Maybe they will get it right.

Hi Garryn

I'm not sure yet what I will do with the 1891-CC AU-58 PCGS.
Right now I'm leaning towards a "crack-out" but I'm not sure when I'll even get to doing this. I would like to get a few more "wizardly" opinions first...

Hi Loosechange

I would love to "go for it" right now but the trouble is that I hate spending the $$$ just to chase an improper grade on a coin that I don't plan to sell. It's like giving the $$$ away.
I know that this will bug me just enough though that eventually I'll break down and go ahead with a re-sub......someday!

Drummer, if the Wizard says go for it then you will have no other choice. His opinion has it own weight in gold! it sure is one beautiful coin.

Hi Loosechange

Your advice is very good (regarding the re-sub of the 1891-CC $5 PCGS AU-58) and I'm sure I will end up heeding it eventually.

I do agree, it is a beautiful coin and definitely an uncirculated specimen.

Drummer, Grading from pictures always gives me problems because I can't rotate the coin. My best guess is that on the 58 coin the grader saw or thought he saw a slight rub somewhere that made it a 58 instead of a 63. My favorite grade is AU58 because it's generally a much nicer coin without the MS60+ price. Doc Arnold
