Hi Garryn

I was very surprised at the results of my little toning experiment. The fact that the toning took place so quickly with the coin in the jewel display box......it did make me a believer in Airtite holders and I don't work for that company either!

OK, the photo looked to me like the coin in the Airtite holder also toned a small bit. I must be mistaken. Never mind.

Hi Garryn

Just a bit of spotty photo lighting but the coin is actually blast white.

I have actually purchased older type holders like Wayte Raymond's and the Whitman board style Dansco's and have over time produced some awesome toned coins. Does this classify them as artificially toned? It is not like they were treated by some chemical other than the chemicals used in producing the holders. I believe that I heard Dave Bowers mention once that a silver coin left in an old oak desk produced an amazing electric blue tone over a period of about a year.
